How Do I Choose the Right Price?

5 min readFor Requesters

You're in Control of Your Budget

Unlike many service platforms that use fixed pricing, Favor On-Demand gives you the flexibility to decide what you're willing to pay for your task.

Every task is different. A simple grocery pickup isn't priced the same as assembling a large piece of furniture or helping someone move across town.

Choosing a fair budget helps attract interested Helpers while setting clear expectations from the start.

What Should You Consider?

Before posting your task, think about a few important factors.

1

The Amount of Work

Ask yourself: How much work is involved? Is it a quick task or an all-day project? Will it require lifting, cleaning, or multiple steps? Generally, larger tasks deserve larger budgets.

2

The Estimated Time

Think about how long the task may take. Examples include a 20-minute errand, 1-hour furniture assembly, half-day landscaping project, or full-day moving assistance. Longer tasks typically require higher compensation.

3

Skill Level Required

Some tasks require little experience, while others call for specialized skills such as furniture assembly, TV mounting, home organization, photography, tutoring, event setup, or minor home repairs. If your task requires experience or specialized knowledge, consider increasing your budget to attract qualified Helpers.

4

Materials and Tools

Think about who will provide the necessary materials or equipment. Are you providing all required materials? Does the Helper need to bring tools? Will the Helper need to purchase supplies before arriving? Clearly explaining these details in your task helps avoid confusion and allows Helpers to decide if the task is a good fit.

5

Location and Travel

Some tasks may require a Helper to travel farther than others. Consider driving distance, parking availability, multi-location errands, and remote versus in-person work. Travel time may influence whether a Helper chooses to accept your task.

Fair Pricing Benefits Everyone

Offering a fair budget can help:

Attract more interested Helpers
Receive responses more quickly
Increase the likelihood of finding an experienced Helper
Create a positive experience for everyone involved

Remember, your budget is an offer—not a guarantee that every Helper will accept the task.
